Registration is now open

The Organizing Committee of the 5th WCILCOS Conference is happy to announce that the registration is now open.  Space is limited and please register early. Deadline is February 29, 2012.

Co-hosted by the UBC Library and Ohio University Libraries, the 5th WCILCOS conference on “Chinese through the Americas” will be held May 16th-19th, 2012 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.  In total 118 abstracts prepared by academic scholars and community researchers from 15 countries and regions (Canada, United States, Cuba, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Australia) were accepted. The tentative schedule of 36 panel sessions and the abstracts are now posted on the conference website.

The registration fee of CAD $168 will include two lunches and two dinners (opening and closing ceremony).  To encourage the younger generation to participate in the overseas Chinese studies, we are offering a discount to students (CAD $112).

The Organizing Committee also arranges a Vancouver one-day city tour on May 19 which will bring conference delegates and their families to visit the old and new Chinatown and other attractions of Vancouver.  Conference registrants will receive a discount.
